Reedham Ferry Drainage Mill : ウィキペディア英語版 | Reedham Ferry Drainage Mill
The Reedham Ferry Drainage Mill, also known as The Red Mill is a former drainage windmill found on the River Yare on The Broads in Norfolk.〔Eastern Daily Press - Tuesday 6th October 1959〕 It is now a privately owned holiday home. ==History== The Reedham Ferry drainage mill was built in the 1840s with common sails to drive a single scoop wheel and was brought to wind with a tail pole. In later years, it was known as the Red Mill. During the 1890s the millwrights Englands of Acle, modernised its machinery and refitted it with double shuttered patent sails. The Norfolk boat shaped cap held a fantail. In 1936, the mill was disused for 14 years until 1950 when Geoffery Livingston, a businessman from Leicester bought the then derelict mill and converted it in 1957. The Reedham Ferry Drainage Mill was then used as a holiday home from 1972 where it is still used to this day.
